	Bring and Buy Shop This project, organized by Patricia Barrymore in the parish center, has proven to be very successful and a good fund-raiser. People bring and buy items. We appeal each week for new and used items and the response has been good.
Carols by Candlelight Service 2008 Thank you to all who took part in our annual Carols by Candlelight service on Sunday, December 14, 2008. The Christmas Story was produced and directed by Patricia Barrymore, who accompanied the instrumentals on the piano and organ. Well over one hundred people attended the Carol service and there were lots of wonderful comments about the play and the children who took part. This year, we included the instrumentals into the play, which was a huge success. The weather was just fine as we crowned the evening with the Three Kings International Supper in the parish hall and outside in the church grounds. A big thank you to all who cooked those wonderful dishes from so many countries around the world.
The Animal Defense League This project is near and dear to everybody’s hearts. Most of us have pets at home and know how important this project is. Fr. Barrymore is the chaplain for the Animal Defense League in San Antonio, TX. As Animal Defense League chaplain, his ministry includes the Blessing of the Animals, the burial of animals that have been abused or died within the shelter, and being a caring friend to the many staff in their work. Read about Sadie, our celebrity dog and survivor of animal abuse, who was taken in by the ADL and given a new lease on life! We have a “Wish List” in our parish center from which people contribute needed items. Many animals rescued from Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana were brought to San Antonio and sheltered by the Animal Defense League.
